The accelerated aging population, coupled with social mobility, has led to an increase in empty-nest families, and the issue of elderly care has become more and more of a social problem. Canada Filial Piety Day Canada's Older Adults Day is called the Day of Laughter and is celebrated on June 21st of each year. Senior Citizens' Day and Senior Citizens' Week in Chile The Chilean government has designated October 15th of each year as National Senior Citizens' Day, and the week of the 15th as Senior Citizens' Week, during which various activities to respect the elderly are held. Senior Citizens' Day in Greece Every year during the golden autumn season, the Greek island of Crete chooses an auspicious day to hold the Senior Citizens’ Day.
