(2) Foreign nationals must hold: ① Personal passport or identity and nationality documents replacing passport (stateless persons are exempted from submission); ② "Foreigner Residence Permit" issued by the public security authority; ③ A certificate of the applicant’s name, gender, date of birth, nationality, marital status (single, divorced, widowed), occupation, nature of work, and the person with whom he/she is applying to marry, issued by the county-level people’s government where the applicant is registered or the county-level or above agency, school, institution, or enterprise where the applicant works. (3) Foreigners must hold: ① Personal passport or other identity and nationality documents; ② "Foreigner Residence Permit" issued by the public security organ, or identity document issued by the foreign affairs department, or entry or residence permit for temporary visit to China; ③ A marriage status certificate issued by a notary public in the country of origin and authenticated by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (or an agency authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country, or a marriage status certificate issued by that country’s embassy or consulate in China. |
