Why is the Chinese Valentine's Day also called the Qiqiao Festival?

The night of July 7th is called "Qixi Festival". There is a custom of begging for skills in Chinese people, so Qixi Festival is also called "Qixi Festival". Begging for skill means women begging the Weaver Girl for wisdom and skill.
The Records of the Sui Shi of Jingchu states: "The seventh day of the seventh month is the night when the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl meet. ... On this night, women weave colorful threads and thread seven-hole needles, or use gold, silver and stones as needles, and place melons and fruits in the courtyard to pray for dexterity."
Tao Zongyi of the Yuan Dynasty recorded in "Yuanshi Ye Ting Ji": Before the Qixi Festival, women climbed onto the Jiuyintai and threaded nine-tailed needles with colorful threads, competing to see who could pierce nine needle holes first. The one who puts it on first will be the most skillful.
As women's demands for skill continued to increase, the scope of seeking skill from the Weaver Girl also gradually expanded. Some hoped to be dexterous, some hoped to be beautiful, or find a husband of their dreams, or have a son soon, and so on. There is a folk song called "Begging for Skill", which expresses the desire of women to pursue a better life: Begging for dexterity, begging for beauty; begging for telepathy, begging for beauty; begging for a thousand years for my parents; begging for ten million years for my sisters.
