Generally, the time for worshiping Tiangong starts at midnight (11:00 to 1:00 am) on the ninth day of the first lunar month and lasts until before 7:00 am the next morning. However, it is said that since Tiangong is a very noble deity, the earlier you worship him, the more sincere it is. In some areas where Tiangong belief is prevalent, believers will carefully worship Tiangong at home in the middle of the night and then go to a nearby Tiangong temple to burn incense and offer tributes.The ceremony of worshiping the God is quite grand. An altar is set up under the Tiangong stove in the main hall. Generally, a long bench or a low bench is used to place gold paper on it, and then an eight-immortal table is stacked up to serve as the "top table".
