Under what circumstances are standard terms provided by one party invalid?

Article 39, Paragraph 1 of the Contract Law stipulates that when a contract is concluded by adopting standard terms, the party providing the standard terms shall determine the rights and obligations between the parties in accordance with the principle of fairness, and shall adopt reasonable means to draw the attention of the other party to the terms that exempt or limit its liability and explain such terms at the request of the other party.
Article 40 stipulates that if the standard terms and conditions fall under the circumstances specified in Articles 52 and 53 of this Law, or if the party providing the standard terms and conditions exempts itself from its liability, increases the liability of the other party, or excludes the other party's main rights, the terms and conditions shall be invalid.
Article 52 provides that a contract shall be void if any of the following circumstances occurs:
(1) One party concludes a contract by means of fraud or coercion, thereby damaging national interests;
(2) Malicious collusion to harm the interests of the state, the collective or a third party;
(3) Using legal forms to conceal illegal purposes;
(4) Damage to the public interest;
(5) Violation of mandatory provisions of laws and administrative regulations.
Article 53 provides that the following exemption clauses in a contract are invalid:
(1) Causing personal injury to the other party;
(2) Causing property loss to the other party intentionally or due to gross negligence.
