As for why we choose this person and this time as a reference image, I believe most people know that Meng Mu is the most prominent image of a virtuous Chinese mother. The stories of "Mencius' Mother Moved Three Times" and "Breaking the Loom to Teach Her Son" have been passed down for more than two thousand years. If Meng Mu's suffering day is regarded as Mother's Day, it can make people more deeply understand the difficulties of mothers, and be grateful for maternal kindness and love.The establishment process of Chinese Mother's DayOn November 13, 2006, Li Hanqiu, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, proposed the establishment of China's own Mother's Day in a paper entitled "Establishing a Chinese Mother's Day". In December 2006, the four core initiators of "Mother's Day", namely the Festival Emblem Culture Committee of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Zoucheng Municipal Party Committee and Government, the Beijing Oriental Morality Research Institute, and the Shijiazhuang Primary and Secondary School Students' Extracurricular Comprehensive Practice Activity Base, formally established the "China Mother's Day Promotion Association" and decided to designate the second day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar as China's Mother's Day. Afterwards, 18 Confucian scholars and youth ethics educators in my country jointly issued an initiative to establish a Chinese "Mother's Day": they hoped to designate the day when Mencius' mother gave birth to Mencius as "Chinese Mother's Day." On December 13, 2006, the "Founding Conference of the Mother's Day Promotion Association" was held in Zoucheng, Shandong Province, the hometown of Mencius. Confucian families, groups, and scholars in the field of youth ethics and moral education from all over the country passed the "Mother's Day Promotion Association Charter" and "Proposal for the Establishment of Mother's Day", determined that the second day of the fourth lunar month is the Chinese Mother's Day, and decided that the first Chinese Mother's Day would be held in Shijiazhuang on the second day of the fourth lunar month of the Dinghai Year (May 18, 2007).Why do Chinese people establish their own Mother's Day?The Mother's Day image representatives of different cultures have different cultural personalities. They flow with the blood of their own national culture and carry the national spirit of their own nation. In order to safeguard the subjectivity of Chinese culture, maintain the bloodline of Chinese culture, and cultivate the spirit of the Chinese nation, the Chinese people should not lie on the backs of other nations when sucking the cultural milk of Mother's Day.
