Why don’t we sweep the floor during the Spring Festival? What’s the reason?

During the Chinese New Year, people have many established customs to follow, commonly known as New Year taboos. Because the first month of the year is the beginning of the year, people often regard it as a sign of fortune for the new year, so there are many taboos during the New Year. The older generation always says that you can’t sweep the floor on the first day of the first lunar month. Why is that?
It turns out that according to folk legend, the first day of the first lunar month is the birthday of the broom, and you cannot use a broom on this day, otherwise it will sweep away wealth and luck, leading to financial loss, and attract "broom stars" and bring bad luck.
However, the first day of the first lunar month is a day for family reunions, and there may also be guests visiting to pay New Year's greetings. It is inevitable that garbage will be left behind by the coming and going, and it is not good not to clean up. So people came up with a workaround - instead of sweeping outside, sweep inside, symbolizing treasure coming in. After sweeping, the garbage is put into the trash can or wastebasket instead of being thrown away, so the treasure is retained. Therefore, if you must sweep the floor on the first day of the first lunar month, you must sweep from the outside to the inside.
People usually don't take out garbage on the first day of the Lunar New Year. Even if there is a mountain of garbage, you cannot throw it outside the door, but gather it together. This is because people believe that taking things out of the house is taking the blessings of the home out. So even the trash should be left at home.
In some areas in northern my country, not only can "you can't use a broom on the first day of the first lunar month", people also can't wash their hair or take a bath. This is also out of taboo to take away good luck and wealth. In some places, they even "don't sweep the floor before the fifth day of the New Year, and hide the garbage in the bin"; and mopping the floor is believed to "do things in a sloppy manner in the new year", so it is also not allowed.
