The emperor also allowed the Zeng family to have a grand display of lanterns on the eleventh day of the first lunar month and to light a sacred fire on the fourteenth day of the first lunar month. Because the place where the Shen family lived was in the shape of a centipede, the Zeng family built a stone arch bridge on the road leading to the Shen family, in the shape of an elongated goose neck. The Tiger Turning Back and Guanyin Looking at the Sea belong to this type of Feng Shui. The ancestor of one branch of the Zeng family took a fancy to the place called Menghuhuitou, but it belonged to another branch's territory, so he had to resort to sleeping with the daughter-in-law of that branch. When the matter was exposed, he was beaten to death by the members of that branch's clansmen. He then reported the case to the authorities, and put forward the condition that he be buried in Menghuhuitou. The Feng Shui of the Zeng family's grandmother's tomb is "Guanyin overlooking the sea", with a mountain at its back and surrounded by mountains. The mountains are surging in front and the view in front is broad and endless. This tomb also has a story. The Zeng family had been a single-line family for 18 generations. The Zeng family's grandmother's maiden family name was Zhong. The Zeng family discovered that there was a piece of Feng Shui treasure land on the territory of the Zhong family, but to obtain this Feng Shui, there must be a suitable reason. For the sake of family justice, the great-grandmother Zeng swallowed gold and died in her mother's home when she returned home one day. Zeng said that since the person died in her natal family under unclear circumstances, she had no demands and only asked for a place for burial. Zhong agreed: “Don’t even think about the flat land, you can bury your children in the mountains.” This was exactly what Zeng wanted, and they got the coveted Feng Shui land. It is said that from then on, Zeng began to break the embarrassing survival situation of single inheritance for 18 generations.
