Introduction: Jade cabbage is a jade handicraft. Because it sounds like "yu bai cai" (meaning "encounter a hundred fortunes") in Chinese, jade cabbage is a good item for many people to collect and give as gifts. There are also many legends about Feng Shui ornaments such as jade cabbage. Let’s learn about them together! There are many legendary stories in Mr. Shui Mo’s Feng Shui stories that you have never heard of. Let’s take a look at them below. Legend has it that a long time ago, there lived a poor mother and son who depended on each other on the streets of Dali, Yunnan. The mother was called Aunt Yu and the son was named Yu Shengxiang. Aunt Yu was old and weak, and due to overwork, she finally fell ill one day. In order to treat his mother's illness, Yu Shengxiang ran around looking for a good doctor, hoping that his mother's illness could get better soon. Unexpectedly, Aunt Yu's condition not only did not improve, but became more serious day by day. Her son was as anxious as an ant on the hot pan and couldn't sleep at night because of worry! One night, Yu Shengxiang was tired while waiting for his mother. He could not help dozing off. In his dream, he saw an old man with a white beard. The old man said to him, "My good boy, go down to the Red Dragon Well at the foot of Zhonghe Peak. There is a stone door at the bottom of the well. Just knock on the door knocker three times and the stone door will open automatically. After entering the stone gate, walking along the steps and turning eighteen corners, you will reach the place where the "Jade Cabbage" grows. There is a red dragon guarding the east, west, south and north corners of that place. You should honestly explain your purpose to the red dragon and beg it for a small piece of cabbage leaf to save your mother! Just a small piece is enough, don't be greedy. "Yu Shengxiang woke up, opened his eyes and looked at his mother with a pale face, feeling very sad. He remembered the dream he had at night, so he followed the instructions of the old man with white beard and went to Yubaicai. The red dragons felt pity for Yu Shengxiang's sincere filial piety and agreed to his request. Yu Shengxiang came to the jade cabbage, stood on tiptoe, reached out and pinched a small piece of the jade cabbage leaf, and took it home with joy. After returning home, Yu Shengxiang stuffed the small jade cabbage leaf into his mother's mouth, and his mother's illness was cured that day. Afterwards, the son lent the leaves of the white cabbage to the villagers in the surrounding area. From then on, everyone was free from illness and disaster and lived a diligent and peaceful life. This rare and strange incident soon spread to the palace of the King of Nanzhao. At this time, the old empress dowager was seriously ill and groaned in bed all day long. Many imperial doctors had seen her, but were helpless. When the King of Nanzhao heard the news, he immediately sent someone to summon Yu Shengxiang into the palace and asked him to present the leaves of the jade cabbage. Yu Shengxiang presented a jade cabbage leaf, and the King of Nanzhao took it and gave it to the old queen to hold in her mouth. Sure enough, on that very day, the old queen's illness was completely cured. The king was very happy and rewarded Yu Shengxiang with a lot of gold, silver and treasures, and named him "Jinbao Zhuangyuan". There was a rich man in Taihe City named Jia Zao. After hearing about this, Jia Zao became greedy. Before dawn the next day, he left home and headed straight for the Honglongjing at the foot of Zhonghe Peak. Jia Zao pretended to be a poor commoner and came to the place where the jade cabbage grew. He cried to the red dragons in a hypocritical manner. Finally, the four red dragons agreed to let him tear a small piece of the jade cabbage. However, the greedy Jia Zao held the jade cabbage and tried to break it hard, wanting to take the whole cabbage away. As a result, the whole Dali city shook. The four red dragons were furious. They flew over like lightning, stretched out their claws, grabbed Jia Zao's hands and feet, and with a slight pull, they tore him to death. From then on, Dali City returned to peace. This folk story of "Jade Cabbage" is widely circulated in Dali! |
