What are the methods of using Feng Shui compass for orientation?
Introduction: There are many types of compasses. The commonly used ones include the Xuanxuetong electronic Feng Shui compass, Sanyuan compass, Sanhe compass, Sanyuan Sanhe dual-purpose compass, Yi compass, Xuankong compass and the unique compasses of users of various schools. So what are the methods of using Feng Shui Luoding? Let’s take a look at it together below! Want to know more articles and content related to the compass? Welcome to the compass special topic that Mr. Shui Mo has carefully prepared for you to learn more knowledge. Come and have a look!

Several situations of orientation based on building door:

1. Nowadays, most rural compound houses are multi-storey buildings. They are also oriented by pointing the compass at the main entrance. If there is a fence around the house, the gate of the fence cannot be used for orientation.
2. Rural bungalows and courtyard houses. The gate that the compass is pointed to is the main gate of the compound.
3. When orienting a large factory area with multiple office buildings, the orientation should be based on the building where the factory's headquarters is located, rather than the factory gate. If the factory is just a processing workshop and no neighbors work there, the orientation should be based on the factory gate.
4. Multi-story irregular buildings. For example, there are many L-shaped, U-shaped, and even rooms that look like an open book. In this case, the main entrance of the entire building is used as the direction (generally, the doors of buildings are divided into primary and secondary ones). Feng Shui master Liu Ziming talks about how to use the compass. 5. The storefront located on the side of the road is oriented directly by the door of the storefront. If some buildings have facing doors on the first floor and the second floors and above are residential buildings, and the rooms on the first floor facing doors are entered from the road while the residential rooms on the second floors and above are entered through their unit doors, then when handling the situation, it is necessary to see whether the rooms on the first floor facing doors are connected to the unit doors used by the residential rooms on the second floor. If the unit doors cannot enter the facing rooms, they are not connected. In this case, the first floor will be oriented according to the facing door, and the second floor will be oriented according to the unit doors. If the door on the first floor is connected to the unit building door, and one can enter the shop front through the unit building door, then they are connected. At this time, the shop on the first floor and the residences on the second floor and above are oriented to the unit building door, and the door of the shop is only considered as an air outlet.

1. Tips for Orienteering with a Compass

1. Never orient yourself inside a house, because the house is full of reinforced concrete and household appliances, which will affect the degree of the magnetic needle.
2. When using a compass for orientation, you must be careful not to let the compass be too close to the house to be measured. If it is too close, the compass magnetic needle will be affected and there will be errors. At the same time, you must also pay attention to whether there are steel bars, ironware and other items outside the house, because these things will also cause the compass needle to have errors. Once when I was orienting a friend's new home, the residential building was still under construction, so the outside of the house was full of steel scaffolding. It was these steel bars that caused the compass needle to deviate by more than four degrees, so you must pay attention to the above situation when orienting.
3. When orienteering, your body posture must be relaxed. Hold the compass with both hands and place it around your waist. Your body posture should be such that your chest is tucked in and your back is straightened. First, visually check whether the edge of the compass is parallel to one side of the house being measured (the wall facing the measurement). Once it feels parallel, check whether the level of the compass is tilted up and down. If it is tilted, adjust the level to a horizontal position (with the mercury in the center of the level). Then rotate the compass so that the compass's sky plate needle and the red line of the Tianchi overlap closely, and see which character the red line, which is pressed on the front and back (not left and right) relationship with the body, is pressed on, so as to determine the direction. This is the body position during orientation.
4. Pay attention to the impact of the surrounding magnetic field on the compass. When taking directions, a turned-on cell phone, an iron or copper belt buckle around the waist, and surrounding cars and other iron materials will affect the compass, so stay away from these objects when taking directions. This is also where special attention needs to be paid.
5. Generally, it takes several times to complete the orientation. Each time you orient yourself, you should measure repeatedly at different distances to see if it is the same orientation.

2. Compass Orientation Method

The author believes that the method of Xuan Kong Feng Shui orientation should be based on the building door. There are several methods of setting the orientation mentioned in Shen's Xuan Kong School, but based on the author's personal experience, I think the most important and accurate method is to set the orientation based on the building and gate.
There are several popular methods of orientation at present.
1. Orientation based on the sun (orientation based on the sun house that receives the most sunlight and other factors)
2. Set the direction based on the door where the road is.
3. The direction of the main gate. (For example, if it is a unit building, the orientation is based on the main building door).
4. Set the direction based on the door of your private residence. (For example, a unit building is oriented towards each private house)
The most controversial issue is which method is the most accurate in determining the door orientation of a private room or the main building when several families live together in the same house. Mr. Zhong Yimin, a famous Taiwanese numerology master, mainly uses the former method of private door orientation, while some Feng Shui masters in Hong Kong and Taiwan also use the method of main door orientation. Therefore, there is a lot of controversy about the two orientation methods.
After a lot of practice and verification, the author feels that the accuracy of orientation based on building doors is higher than that based on private doors. Therefore, the author would like to express his point of view here that the Xuan Kong Feng Shui orientation should be based on the orientation of the building and the door. If it is not a separate house with separate rooms, the orientation should be based on the door. However, if there are several doors in a connected building, the orientation must be based on the center line of the building.
Everyone knows that the orientation of a grave is determined by the direction of the tombstone. The side of the tombstone with words on it is the direction, and the side without words on it is the sitting direction. This principle can also be applied to the orientation method of a house. Because when people go to visit graves, their bodies are always facing the side of the tombstone with words on it, and when people enter a yang house, they also have to walk a distance facing the house number before entering the room. Even if it is an apartment building, they have to pass through the main building door (house number) first and then go to their private homes. Therefore, the gate of a yang house with a house number is equivalent to a tombstone with words on it in a yin house. And each private residence is only a part of the main unit building. Therefore, the orientation cannot be determined by the door of the private residence, otherwise it will be "losing the big for the small". Therefore, the orientation of the rooms in a yang house must be based on the main door.
As for the method of determining the direction based on which side the road is, I do not agree with it, because doing so will only result in all houses facing the road. Looking through all the Xuan Kong Yang Zhai cases in ancient books, it seems that most of the cases do not have the situation where the house faces water. This shows that this method was not adopted by the ancients.
Moreover, from the perspective of the structure, if the side with the road is taken as the direction, then the direction star plate and the actual shape and terrain will only have two situations: direction star to water and mountain star down to water, but there will be no situation of mountain star to mountain and water star up to mountain. So whether the method of using the road for orientation is true or false, readers will be able to distinguish right from wrong after reading the above theory.
The specific orientation method is to stand outside the house, facing the main door of the house, aim the compass at the door, and rotate the compass so that the magnetic needle overlaps with the bottom line of the red line in the Tianchi. At this time, the two ends of the longitude line in the compass that is perpendicular to the door wall of the building are the sitting and facing. The word pressed by the longitude line at the end parallel to the vertical surface of the human body is the facing of the house, and the word pressed by the longitude line at one end of the building is the sitting. Here's an easy way to remember it: sit inside the house, facing the door.
Summary: The above is about how to use the Feng Shui compass for orientation. The compass can not only be used to measure the effect of directional Feng Shui, but can also be placed in the home as a Feng Shui ornament to enhance your fortune! I hope the above content is helpful to everyone!
