Can’t we have sex on the beginning of summer?

The Beginning of Summer is one of the four solstices, so it is not suitable for sexual intercourse.
According to folk belief, it is not suitable to have sex on the four solstices, which include the Beginning of Spring, Vernal Equinox, Beginning of Summer, Summer Solstice, Beginning of Autumn, Autumnal Equinox, Beginning of Winter and Winter Solstice.
The ancients believed that it was not appropriate to have sex during the "four solar terms and four solstices" because the four solar terms and four solstices were important periods of seasonal change, when the heaven and earth were in a state of chaos. Therefore, having sex at this time could be harmful to people and easily damage their own vitality. Sexual intercourse should not be carried out with the premise of pregnancy, as it would also have a bad effect on the fetus.

What does it mean to not move the stove at the beginning of summer?

Not moving the stove at the beginning of summer may be related to "scattering stove ashes at the beginning of summer", which is a custom of the beginning of summer in the Bai area.
Some Bai villages have the custom of "inserting poplar branches and spreading stove ash", which is related to the legend of a young man removing a snake in Pusha Village of the Bai nationality:

Legend has it that there was a giant python that fell from the sky into the Sharon River next to Pusha Village. It not only blocked the river and flooded the crops, but also gave birth to countless poisonous little snakes. Not only did they commit evil in the village, they even killed many people and animals.
There was a fifteen or sixteen-year-old boy named Haifu in the village. He had been going hunting with his father since he was young and had acquired the skills to hunt tigers and snakes. He could not bear to see the villagers being harmed by the giant snake again, so he decided to get rid of the giant snake and eliminate the harm to the people. Haifu discovered that the giant snake would not come out at night, so he secretly followed the snake to find its hiding place and killed it while it was sleeping.
However, after getting rid of the giant snake, the poisonous small snakes still wreaked havoc in the village, so Haifu sought help from the village elders, who in turn asked Haifu to find the Goddess of Mercy of the South China Sea. Haifu walked for 864 days and experienced many hardships. He finally arrived at the place the old man said, but what he saw before him was an abyss and steep cliffs. Haifu was in despair and prayed to the sky for a righteous path. Just as he finished speaking, a crane flew over. The crane carried Haifu across the abyss, leaving behind a long sword made of fairy feathers. Haifu relied on the long sword to cut through the thorns and finally arrived at the place of Goddess Guanyin of the South China Sea.
Haifu came to the Goddess of Mercy of the South China Sea and explained to her the purpose of his visit. Goddess Guanyin told Haifu the origin of the giant snake and promised Haifu that she would help him save Pusha Village. Goddess Guanyin gave Haifu a poplar seed and told him to go back and plant the seed, and water it once at You, Wu and Mao hours respectively, and the poplar tree would take shape. When the poplar trees grow up, pick their branches and stick them in front of and behind the houses in the village where snakes come and go before sunrise, then sprinkle a layer of stove ash on them.
Haifu brought the seeds and rode a crane back to the village, only to find that the village was in ruins and even his mother had been killed by a poisonous snake. Haifu suppressed his grief and planted the seeds according to the instructions of Goddess of Mercy of the South China Sea. He watered the seeds once at You, Wu and Mao hours respectively. After watering, the seeds really grew into towering trees. Haifu then broke off branches of the poplar tree, collected the ashes from the stove, and scattered them in every corner of the village. When the poisonous snakes saw this, they all disappeared without a trace, and the village returned to a peaceful and happy life from then on.
Therefore, every year on the day of the Beginning of Summer, the Bai people would insert poplar branches and scatter stove ash in front of and behind their houses, one to commemorate the hero Haifu, and the other to cure pythons and snakes.
