Although the ingredients of Laba porridge vary in different regions, they basically include cereals such as rice, millet, glutinous rice, sorghum rice, black rice, and coix seed, beans such as soybeans, red beans, mung beans, kidney beans, and cowpeas, and dried fruits such as red dates, peanuts, lotus seeds, wolfberries, chestnuts, walnut kernels, almonds, longans, raisins, and ginkgo nuts. What are the eight steps of worshiping Buddha?

1. Stand upright with your palms together, your feet in an outward-facing "X" shape, heels about two inches apart, toes about eight inches apart, and your eyes fixed on the tips of your middle fingers.
2. Lower your right hand first, while keeping your left hand in a clasped position. Slowly lower your waist and press your right palm down in the center of the prayer mat, then kneel down on both knees.
3. Press your left palm downward to the left of the center of the prayer mat, half a palm above your right hand. When worshiping Buddha, do not move or turn your toes.
4. Move your right palm half a palm forward from the center of the prayer mat to the right, so that it is aligned with your left palm. The two palms should be about six inches apart, and your forehead should be flat on the ground or the prayer mat.
5. Make fists with both hands, turn your palms upwards, open your hands, and place the palms facing up and flat on the ground or prayer mat. This is called "Head and Face Touching Feet Ceremony."
6. When standing up, clench your fists and turn them over with your palms facing down on the ground. Lift your head off the ground or the prayer mat, and move your right hand back to the center of the prayer mat (or in front of your right knee).
7. Raise your left palm back to your chest, place your right palm on the ground to support your body, and join it with your left palm. At the same time, stand up on both knees, keeping your palms together.
8. After the three rituals, put your hands together, bend over, and lower them to your knees. Use the four fingers of your left hand to cover the four fingers of your right hand, with the two thumbs together and the two index fingers together and stand vertically. Straighten your waist, raise your hands to the level of your eyebrows and then put your hands down. This is greeting. As the saying goes, "A good fate is not as good as good luck." A person's destiny is already determined, and the only thing that can be controlled is his or her "luck."
