What's the point?

1. Beginning of Autumn Society The ancients established the society originally to hold sacrifices in spring to pray for smooth farming. Later, they advocated the practice of "praying in spring and reporting in autumn", so they set up the Autumn Society during the Autumnal Equinox. Just like pulling the wedge, originally there was only the spring wedge on the Shangsi Festival (March 3), such as Lanting Qushui Liujin, and later on the fine days in spring and autumn, they used to hold games and activities, so there was the Autumn wedge. People probably believe that spring farming is about to begin. Sacrifices can be used to pray for successful farming, and when farming is completed in autumn, sacrifices should be held to express gratitude.
2. Eating New Rice During the autumn harvest, farmers cut new rice, which is generally called opening the rice gate. All new rice cooked for the first time must first be offered to ancestors and the ten earth gods, and then the family members are gathered together to eat it. This is called eating new rice or offering new rice. People who are particular about food will choose an auspicious day to burn incense and set out wine for offering. The same is true for ethnic minorities in some areas. Ethnic minorities in western Sichuan Province and eastern Tibet Autonomous Region mostly taste new food on June 14th, when buckwheat is ripe. In Yining and Yue areas, they taste new food on July 15th, when rice is ripe. If there is a leap month, it should be moved forward one month. On the day of tasting the new food, people harvest new buckwheat or new rice and make rice with it. They also use a hen of that year. Rich families will also slaughter a sheep and offer it as a sacrifice to their ancestors to show that they cherish the rice and grain, repay the kindness and never forget their roots.
3. Going to the community: The farmer has ten plots of land as his only resource. Without the Ten Lands, there would be no agriculture, and the population would be sparse, with fixed residences. People would gather together, help each other, and have extremely deep feelings for each other. The relationship between neighbors is extremely close. Sometimes they have to help each other and work together to complete agricultural matters such as tilling the land, eliminating and preventing diseases and pests.
