These events include: in 1909, American socialists designated February 28 as National Women's Day; in 1910, at the Copenhagen Conference of the Second International, more than 100 women representatives from 17 countries, led by Clara Zetkin, planned to establish International Women's Day, but did not specify an exact date; on March 19, 1911, more than 1 million women in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and other countries gathered to celebrate International Women's Day; on the last Sunday of February 1913, Russian women celebrated their International Women's Day by holding demonstrations against the First World War; on March 8, 1914, women in many European countries held anti-war demonstrations; on March 8, 1917 (February 23 in the Russian calendar), in order to commemorate the nearly 2 million Russian women who died in World War I, Russian women went on strike, which kicked off the "February Revolution".
