Because chrysanthemums are pure and proud of the snow, Tao Yuanming had the famous line "Picking chrysanthemums under the eastern fence, leisurely seeing the southern mountains". Chinese people have the custom of appreciating chrysanthemums and drinking chrysanthemum wine on the Double Ninth Festival. Chrysanthemum symbolizes longevity: Chrysanthemum blooms in autumn and is therefore a symbol of autumn. People even call September the "Chrysanthemum Month" because "chrysanthemum" is homophonic with "according to", and "nine" is homophonic with "long", so chrysanthemum is also used to symbolize longevity or permanence. The chrysanthemums picked on the ninth day of the ninth month of the lunar calendar, the Double Ninth Festival, are more meaningful. They are often used to make refined chrysanthemum tea. Shredded Pork with Chrysanthemum Wash the chrysanthemum, dry it, and tear it into shreds. Choose lean pork and cut it into shredded pork. Add bean flour or potato flour, refined salt and water to mix thoroughly. The delicious chrysanthemum porridge has the effects of clearing the liver and improving eyesight, dispersing wind and clearing heat, promoting qi and blood, lightening the body, resisting aging and prolonging life.
