Feng Shui story: the story of Lin Banxian and the scholar
Introduction: When we were young, we loved our parents telling us bedtime stories and falling asleep listening to many beautiful and interesting stories. Now, we can listen to some stories about Feng Shui. In this issue of Feng Shui stories, we will talk about the story of the cause and effect connection between Lin Banxian and the scholar. Let’s learn about it together! Folk wisdom is compiled into stories, including many Feng Shui stories. Let’s take a look at them. Once upon a time, there was a man named Lin Banxian, who was extremely accurate in fortune-telling and was famous all over the world. Every day there is an endless stream of people coming to him to solve their problems, and most of them come in with sad faces and leave with happy faces.
That morning, just as Lin Banxian opened the door, a man who looked like a scholar walked in. Lin Banxian was lighting his pipe, not even raising his head, and asked habitually, "If you have any difficulties, please speak frankly."
Unexpectedly, the visitor shook his head and said, "There are no difficulties, but happy events one after another."
Lin Banxian couldn't help but raise his head and looked at the visitor for a while: "If you have a happy event, just enjoy it at home by yourself, why are you looking for me?"
The man said that he was a country doctor and had recently been serving in the palace, where he was favored by the emperor. Yesterday a eunuch brought a message saying that the emperor would receive him the day after tomorrow and would not only reward him with a sum of money, but also give him an official position. Meng got such a great benefit, he felt uneasy, so he came to Lin Banxian to ask about good and bad luck.
Lin Banxian was in a good mood and made an exception to allow the visitor to sit down. He said, "I'd like to hear more about it."
The visitor sat down and introduced himself as Bai. He was originally a country scholar, but he failed three imperial examinations and changed his career to become a doctor. He was determined to become a good doctor if he could not be a prime minister. He studied medicine with the same enthusiasm as he studied in the past, and read many medical classics by heart. Then he became a disciple of an old Chinese doctor in the town and served as his apprentice for three years. After setting up his own practice, he began to save patients and soon became a famous doctor.
Unexpectedly, half a month ago, Bai Xiucai was brought into the palace, and the peaceful days were broken.
It turned out that the prince in the palace had contracted a strange disease. He refused to eat or drink but his stomach was swollen like a drum. No medicine could cure him and the imperial doctors were helpless. The emperor had only this one precious son, and he was so anxious that he could not sit still. After killing several imperial doctors, he ordered government agencies at all levels to recommend local doctors to come to Beijing as soon as possible.
Mr. Bai was famous and well-reputed in the local area, and was recommended to the emperor by the county magistrate. After entering the palace, Mr. Bai realized that treating the prince was like walking on thin ice, and if he was not careful, he could lose his head. Several of his colleagues had already been beheaded, and Bai Xiucai was also very worried.
It was Bai Xiucai's turn to see the patient that day. When he approached the bedside, he found that the five-year-old child was dying and his life was hanging by a thread. After a thorough examination, Bai Xiucai broke out in a cold sweat. Even though he tried his best, he still couldn't figure out what illness the prince had. If the cause of the disease cannot be found, there will be no way to prescribe the right medicine. If the prince's illness cannot be cured, then he will die.
Mr. Bai certainly didn't want to die just like that, so he planned to return to his room and meditate quietly to solve the prince's strange disease. But the eunuch would not let him leave unless he gave a detailed diagnosis. Bai Xiucai had no choice but to say to the eunuch: "As the saying goes, using medicine is like using soldiers. How to deploy troops and make plans? Please give me some time."
The eunuch said, "The prince's illness can no longer be delayed. You only have half a day!"
If no remedy is found by dark, then all that can be done is wait for death. Therefore, Bai Xiucai could not calm down when he returned to his residence. He had no choice but to walk out of the house and pace aimlessly in the harem. The garden in the harem is very large, with all kinds of flowers in bright colors competing for beauty.
Mr. Bai was in a bad mood and had no intention of viewing the flowers. He just strolled along the flower path. Suddenly, a mushroom blocked the way, forcing Bai Xiucai to open his eyes wide. The mushroom was as big as an umbrella, cutting the flower path in half. Mr. Bai had never seen such a huge mushroom before, and he couldn't help but stop to watch. The color and texture of the mushrooms are exactly the same as those picked near woods and ditches. The only difference is that they are huge, so huge that it is astonishing and amazing.
As he watched, an idea suddenly occurred to Bai Xiucai. As the saying goes, strange diseases can be cured by monsters. The prince's disease is obviously incurable, so why not give it a try? Since you are about to die, why not give it a try? Anyway, this mushroom can’t cure diseases but it won’t kill people either. Thinking of this, he found a broken tile and dug up the big mushroom with its roots. The root of the mushroom grew on a half-broken wooden comb. It might be that the women in the palace liked to comb their hair with vegetable oil, and the wooden comb was soaked with the oil. After being discarded, it fell to the ground and became fertilizer, which made the mushroom grow so plump.
Mr. Bai made a pot of soup with big mushrooms and fed it to the prince personally. Strangely enough, the prince had just drunk half a bowl of mushroom soup when his stomach suddenly rumbled and he had diarrhea before he could even get out of bed. In the pool of filth, there was a ball of something, slightly smaller than an egg and round in shape. Mr. Bai thought that it might be this mass of stuff that blocked the prince's intestines, causing him to lose his appetite, suffer from abdominal distension and become thin. When I cut open the thing with a knife, it turned out to be a bunch of hair. Mr. Bai couldn't understand why there was a clump of hair in the prince's stomach? Why was half a bowl of mushroom soup washed down? While Mr. Bai was still puzzled, the prince had recovered and kept asking for food.
