Things to note when choosing a cemetery

Introduction: During the Spring and Autumn Period in China, Confucius vigorously advocated "filial piety", and the custom of lavish burials became increasingly popular and continued throughout the ages. Gradually, a set of grand and complex sacrificial rituals and burial systems, as well as various etiquette, were formed. Therefore, the tomb is considered to be the first burial place for ancestors and parents, which can be used to show filial piety and to guide future generations. Therefore, from the emperor to the common people, everyone attached great importance to the placement of tombs. For geomancers (feng shui masters) who choose burial sites for people, the first priority is to find a grave. Therefore, if you want to truly receive the protection of your ancestors, you must arrange a "feng shui treasure land" for them. However, there are many things to pay attention to when choosing. Feng shui terminology is important knowledge in Feng Shui. Let us take a look at it below.

1. Metaphorical.

As the saying goes, fallen leaves return to their roots. Roots, as the resting place of mankind and the habitat of the soul, can return to the earth, which means the foundation of human relations, the origin of race, the beginning of human existence and the destination of life. The shapes of the stars of the cave are different, and the places where the dragon forms the cave are also different. Venus is round, Jupiter is straight, Saturn is square, Mercury is star-shaped, and Mars is pointed. The popular burial methods among the Chaoshan people include: burying Jupiter in festivals, burying Mars in flames, burying Mercury in bubbles, burying Venus in nests, and burying Saturn in corners (all based on the normal body). In the relationship between the wooden dragon and the acupoint, the dragon is valued for its yin, and the yin will make the pulse strong and powerful, while the acupoint is valued for its yang, and the yang will make the qi harmonious and beneficial. Acupoints can also be divided into yin and yang. Yin comes and yang receives, and yang comes and yin receives. Only the ones with clear convex and concave shapes, like a tortoise shell, and five colors of soil are real acupoints. If the hole is formed in a valley, it will contain mostly mixed soil; if it is formed on a hill, it will contain mostly weathered soil.

2. Technicality

First, point the acupoints: The traditional method of point pointing and meridian placement is: if the back of the dragon is as plump as a head and shaped like a turtle cover, it is in righteousness; secondly, identify the direction: a good cemetery, in addition to identifying the life and death, nobility and inferiority of the dragon and the presence or absence of fat gas in the cave, there are also elements such as sand, water, and direction. Many surnames praise the cemeteries of their ancestors because they meet the five major elements of Feng Shui, namely dragon, sand, cave, mountain and direction. The last is numerical rationality: the size of the tomb and the depth and width of the grave are affected by the stars of the cave. The depth and width are determined by the Zibai Luoshu theory, which is called the Zhanggan method in Chaoshan. The Tianfu Gua ruler method and Cunbai starting examples are used for tomb construction. Examples of the ruler method are Gan Bi (water), Li Po Jun, etc.

Mountains and rivers have spirits but no owners, corpses have owners but no spirits. If a corpse with an owner but no spirit is buried in a very good mountain or river with spirit but no owner, the corpse without spirit can be given spirits and the ownerless mountain or river can be given an owner. This is called "Li Qi" in Feng Shui. Good Qi regulation will bring great blessings to future generations, and wealth, population, nobility and longevity can all come from it.
