Feng Shui anecdote: Liu Bowen cut off the dragon vein to save the country

Liu Bowen is a famous fortune teller in history. He is a master of divination and is said to be half-immortal! At that time, Liu Bowen was the military advisor of the Ming Dynasty and was highly valued by Zhu Bowen. Now let’s take a look at the legendary Feng Shui story of Liu Bowen! During the Ming Dynasty, there was a prince who served as a high-ranking official in the court. Everyone called him Prince Li Jing. Prince Li Jing was exiled to the west because he offended the court and angered the emperor. After he was demoted to Xitou, he settled down in Xiangtang (now in the east of Chuankou Town, Minhe County). Although this place is picturesque with mountains and rivers and is a good place to cultivate one's body and mind, Prince Li Jing is resentful and often thinks about returning to the capital, but he never has the chance. One spring, Prince Li Jing's father died. A Taoist priest came to the funeral and told Prince Li Jing to shoot three arrows to the east on the hundredth day after his father's death, and then lead his troops back to the capital. After hearing this, Prince Li Jing observed mourning with peace of mind, and prepared to lead his troops into the capital when the time came. When he had observed mourning for ninety-nine days, Madam Li no longer wanted to do so, so she urged Prince Li Jing, "It's already ninety-nine days, one day less doesn't matter, right? Hurry up and shoot the arrows." Prince Li Jing could not stand his wife's nagging, so he shot three arrows to the east. How could he know that when the three arrows reached the capital, one arrow hit the pillar of the imperial palace, one arrow shot into the wall of the Golden Palace, and one arrow shot into the golden basin where the emperor washed his face. At that time, the military advisor of the court was Liu Bowen, a god-like man who knew the changing situation of the world, the geography of mountains and rivers, and the vicissitudes of life. He was also a famous Feng Shui master in ancient and modern times. He saw three arrows shot from the west almost hit the emperor, so he hurriedly led the army to the west. After Prince Li Jing shot the three arrows, he immediately led his troops eastward. Halfway through the journey, he heard that the emperor was not dead, but Liu Bowen had arrived with a large group of troops, so he quietly withdrew his troops and returned to Xiantang. Liu Bowen led his army to the west, but could not find out who shot the arrow. He carefully examined the topography and land veins here. There were many dragon mountains and phoenix mountains in the mountains in the west, and he thought that a true dragon emperor would surely emerge from this place in the future. So he ordered the army to cut off the veins of many dragon mountains and phoenix mountains one by one. When he arrived at Sanchuan, Minhe, Liu Bowen carefully inspected the situation of Sanchuan. He saw two Dragon Mountains and two Phoenix Mountains. One Dragon Mountain extended westward from the present Gangou Township, and its dragon head almost reached the Yellow River. The other Dragon Mountain extended eastward from the present Gangou Township, and its dragon head almost reached the Yellow River. Each of the two Dragon Mountains carried a Phoenix Mountain on its back, and the two Phoenix Mountains (Shuguo Hulang in Guanting Town and Mula Hulang in Zhongchuan Township) had spread their wings. The two mountains have become the dragon and phoenix veins of two dragons playing with a pearl and two phoenixes facing the sun. There are lush pines and cypresses on Dragon Mountain and Phoenix Mountain, and thousands of kinds of flowers are in full bloom. It is a Feng Shui treasure land where dragons and tigers are hidden! If the heads of the two dragon mountains reach the Yellow River and connect with it, and if the two phoenix mountains spread their wings, a true dragon emperor will emerge from this place and a dynasty will change. Liu Bowen thought to himself: Fortunately, I arrived here in time. If it were a few years later, the Ming Dynasty would have been destroyed. He ordered the army to dig the mountain and cut the veins day and night. First, he cut off the veins of the two dragons. Then, he led the troops to dig the veins of Phoenix Mountain. But when digging the wings of Dafeng Mountain, they grew back at night after being dug during the day. We dug for several months in a row and could not stop digging. One day, a soldier who was digging a mountain forgot his shoes at the site and went to look for them at night. As he was digging the soil to find his shoes, he suddenly heard a voice underground: "Oh, that was a close call. If you keep digging all night, you'll break the roots." When the soldier heard this, he panicked and didn't even look for his shoes. He quickly ran back to tell Liu Bowen. Liu Bowen hurriedly took the army to dig overnight. When they dug to a depth of ninety-nine feet, they found a huge tree root that was as thick as an embrace, which happened to be the bloodline of this phoenix. Liu Bowen swung his sword and cut off the roots of the tree, and bright red blood gushed out of the roots and flowed into the Yellow River. Just as the blood was flowing onto the beach by the river, a man happened to walk by and stepped on a hole in the beach. The blood flowed into the hole and never flowed out again. If it flows into the Yellow River, the bloodline will be connected again, and a great man will emerge from this place. Liu Bowen dug the Two Dragon Mountains and the Two Phoenix Mountains into pieces. The dense pine and cypress trees were pressed under the mountains, and the roots of all flowers were uprooted. From then on, pines and cypresses no longer grew on the mountains in the Sanchuan area of Minhe, and flowers no longer bloomed. It is said that no great figures have emerged from Sanchuan since then. Now when going from Chuankou Town to Guanting Town, one has to pass through several mountain passes. It is said that those were the passes dug by Liu Bowen when he cut the dragon vein. |
