The fifth day of the eleventh month of the year 2017 in the lunar calendar is Friday, December 22, 2017 in the Gregorian calendar. The winter solstice is:

2. From the traditional perspective of solar terms, it is not suitable to get married on the Winter Solstice in 2017!
The day before the four solstices and the spring equinox, autumn equinox, summer solstice and winter solstice is not a good day for weddings. The energy of the universe is in a chaotic state. Traditional customs believe that these are the four dead days and the four separation days, and it is unlucky to get married at these times.
In addition, there are many taboos in choosing a date for marriage. For example, the third, seventh and ninth months of the lunar calendar need to be avoided. These three months coincide with "Qingming Festival", "Yulan Festival" and "Chonggong Festival" respectively, which are all traditional "Ghost Festivals" and are not suitable for holding weddings. "Marry someone in June and be married for half a year." June equals half a year, so getting married in June is a sign of "being married for half a year." At the same time, traditional numerology says that the wedding date should avoid the birthdays of both parties' parents. If the wedding date is the same as the parents' birthday, it will conflict and be detrimental to the happiness of both parties.
