| Introduction: Confucius is the founder of Chinese Confucian culture. Even now people still respect Confucian culture. There is also a Feng Shui story about Confucius when he chose a tomb. Let’s take a look at it below. It is said that when Confucius was 73 years old, he had a premonition that his destiny had come to an end and he would not live long. While lamenting "Mount Tai is collapsing! The beams and pillars are falling! The philosophers are withering", he decided to lead his disciples out to select a burial site. Before his death, Confucius compared his passing to the collapse of Mount Tai. The feng shui of a tomb was directly related to the rise and fall of future generations, so he worked tirelessly and personally went out of his way to finally select a 18-acre cemetery on the banks of the Sishui River in the north of Qufu City. Zilu said: "Although the wind and veins here are good, there is still a lack of a river in front." Confucius said: "Don't worry, there are people from Qin coming to dam the river." More than 270 years after Confucius' death, Qin Shihuang burned books and buried scholars. Someone suggested: "If you want to make Confucianism die, you should first destroy the feng shui of Confucius' tomb. There is no river in the Confucius Forest. If you dig a river in front of Confucius' tomb, separating him from his former residence in Quli, Confucius will not be able to show his divinity." When Qin Shihuang heard this, he immediately conscripted corvée labor and dug the Zhushui River to the south of Confucius' tomb, which just served Confucius, completing the last feng shui project for Confucius' tomb. Confucius never worshipped God, which seemed like God's arrangement. Because this small river is located in front of a human tomb, it is praised by later generations as "an infinite spiritual source that will last forever with heaven and earth." |
